IIMMHR is committed to a comprehensive human rights approach to maternal mortality. This human rights approach includes a call for greater political will on behalf of governments and donors to take the necessary steps to reduce maternal mortality, and in turn, more and better accountability mechanisms to ensure that women's right to maternal health becomes a reality.
We invite your organization to add its voice and endorse this cause by becoming an Associate.
Associate Pledge
We support the Initiative's mission of ensuring that the policies and practices of governments and other key institutions successfully address maternal mortality as a human rights issue. We endorse the Initiative's strategies of:
- influencing policy makers and programs globally and nationally,
- supporting groups engaged in advocacy-related work in order to hold states to account and generate momentum for change, and
- sharing information on maternal mortality and human rights.
As Associates, we will receive periodic updates from the IIMMHR, including notices of updates to the website and announcements of published resources and tools to support human rights advocacy to prevent maternal mortality. We will also learn of opportunities to support specific advocacy campaigns. In turn, we have the opportunity to contribute our own relevant news and resources for distribution, and to play an active role in supporting the IIMMHR's strategies.
